In Moselle, the retired woman returned to her studies to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a hairdresser. At the age of 68, the former saleswoman enjoys this new profession.

At the age of 68, Christiane Parmentier begins a new career as a hairdresser. This former supermarket saleswoman achieved her childhood dream after retiring. “When I was 14 years old, we visited all hairdressing salons to find an apprentice master. (…) They didn't take any,” explains Christiane Parmentier, hairdresser at the “Coiffure Serge” salon. She returned to study two years earlier.

Admiring customers

After a one-year hairdressing CAP, she found a position in a hairdressing salon in Sarrebourg (Moselle), where she works twice a week. “We never thought she would invest so much. In fact, she is completely committed, as if she will have another whole career,” says Audrey Barbi, manager of the “Coiffure Serge” salon. This atypical journey causes the delight of clients. The pensioner ventured out thanks to her daughter who found her a workout. “I am very proud of her,” assures Isabelle Parmentier. Christiane Parmentier has no plans to retire.
