The glittering career of Antoine Bonneville, head of the Lenzi company based in Argenton

Antoine Bonneville chaired the Regional Chamber of Commerce from 2016 to 2019. If, with the arrival of Covid, he wanted to leave this mandate to focus again on the business of Lenzi, which he has managed since 2004, this function showed recognition from his peers for acting in favor of local economy and entrepreneurship.

His elevation to the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honor on April 5, 2024 will be based on the same arguments. It will provide an opportunity to recall a brilliant professional career, mostly achieved in the field of lighting production.

His arrival in Argenton-sur-Creuse was based on a challenge: to perpetuate an institution founded in 1933 in Aulnay-sous-Bois (Val-d'Oise) by an Italian emigrant, who became famous by delivering French lanterns to the city of Paris. Relocated in 1993 to be closer to its main supplier, the Fonderie du Moulinet de Saint-Marcel, the company then moved to the Narrons area, in Argenton, where for twenty years its president worked to maintain and develop its activity.

Establishment of a commercial network in France and abroad

“Initially we sold everything to Philips, and in order to diversify our customer base, we completely overhauled our sales network,” recalls Antoine Bonneville. We now have fifty multi-cards in France and abroad. Lenzi, which has thirty employees, has also significantly expanded its product range and modernized its production tools. »

Without denying its stylish lanterns, the Argenton-based company has recently launched, after three years of research, a more contemporary collection, called Néo, made up of twenty-five products. It has also adapted to the energy transition, with very low consumption light bulbs and is even testing street lamps powered by photovoltaic panels.

Antoine Bonneville is also very proud of his latest baby, the universal LED unit, the Bul, which allows lighting only the optical part, creating savings.

If the energy crisis has slowed investment in the community, it has boosted the renovation market, which offers a large opening for these innovative complementary products.

“One of my greatest pleasures is that I chaired Adesi”

However, the entrepreneurial action of boss Lenzi does not stop only at the design, production and sale of lighting fixtures: “A lot of young people come to us for training, internships or work courses. One of my greatest pleasures is to have participated in the launch and chaired for three years the Association for Higher Education Indre (Adesi) which enables the maintenance of twelve institutions in the Châteauroux ecocampus and offers thirty degrees to 2500 students. It offers opportunities to young people without going far. »

So many facts that will be highlighted on April 5th. But in the meantime, Antoine Bonneville will launch Bulo's little brother, a model that is clearly eagerly awaited by the community.
